The steel structure is a major cost item. For a small farm of 500 to 1,000 square meters, a simpler film greenhouse may be suitable. For large projects of several hectares, the design should consider machinery movement, drainage, service corridors and future expansion.

Ventilation, shading, cooling pads, exhaust fans, heating, circulation fans and control systems can change the budget significantly. Hot climate farms often need stronger shading and cooling design. Cold regions may need double-layer film, heating or insulation quilts.
Soil planting, substrate bags, NFT hydroponics and seedling benches require different water and fertilizer equipment. The crop plan should be discussed before the greenhouse layout is finalized.
